I’ll See You in the Weeds

This essay and publication explores the intersections of personal memory, locational empathy, and the coping mechanisms embedded in daily life through a multidisciplinary sculptural lens.

Anchored in Theobald's lived experience and artistic practice, it investigates the affective resonance of mundane objects, urban landscapes, and routine systems as tools for emotional navigation. Drawing on theoretical frameworks such as queer phenomenology and ordinary affect, the text weaves between personal narrative, philosophical inquiry, and reflections on grief, healing, and embodiment. Through these oscillations, the author illuminates how tenderness, beauty, and curiosity transform rigidity into sites of possibility, bridging the internal and external worlds. This work invites readers into a poetic reconsideration of their surroundings, proposing that profound meaning resides in the overlooked and ordinary.
