Fountainswimming Journal: Residue (2023)
Fountainswimming Journal is a student-led publication at Cranbrook Academy of Art that centers art writing including but not limited to poetry, studio interviews, exhibition reviews, and academic essays. The theme of submissions for the 2022-23 year was “Residue.”
My personal contribution to this publication was an academic essay in an attempt to parse through the interconnected nature of filtration systems/grief, intimacy/relationships, & how the body/making work in relation to the body can be utilized to stabilize our position to what is around us. This essay was written at the site that washes the dust/touch out of my clothes each week: Laundry Palace in Clawson, MI.
